Terminal Reset Process
You can reset your terminal in two ways:
Via Device Manager – This is the official method and requires an Admin Passcode.
Via Settings – Use this method only if you cannot generate an Admin Passcode through VHQ.
Slide down from the top (or up from the bottom) and open the App Launcher (9-box grid).
Select Reset Setup Wizard.
Enter the Admin Passcode (Contact Help Desk to obtain Admin Passcode).
Swipe up from the bottom and tap More options.
Tick Reset DID and Request key exchange.
Tap the message: “RESET DEVICE AND RESTART (WARNING: POWER COULD DRAIN BEFORE MERCHANT ACTIVATES)”.
The terminal will restart and start from the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE).
See Terminal Setup (OOBE) for further setup instructions.
Note: If you use this method instead of Device Manager and encounter issues, you may need to clear EntityID and POIUID.
Slide down from the top of the screen and select the Cog icon.
Tap Settings > System > Reset Options.
Select Erase all data (factory reset).
Tap Reset Device at the bottom.
Do not tick the “Enable deployment mode” box.
Tap Erase Everything.
The terminal will restart and start from the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE).
See Terminal Setup (OOBE) for further setup instructions.
Note: If you use this method instead of Device Manager and encounter issues, you may need to clear EntityID and POIUID.
